Smooth Jazz In The Mix 12 – The Jazz Beat Mix

Las Vegas – February 26, 2017 – Exotic DJ has released the latest edition of the Smooth Jazz Mix Series.  Smooth Jazz In The Mix 12 is packed with the hottest new smooth jazz releases, with a few throwbacks to round out the mix.

The collection starts out with Arrival, from Paul Taylor.  Like the title states, you definitely have arrived for 45 minutes of listening pleasure.  Euge Groove is up next with Homie Grown.  Euge is known for his slow, funky grooves, bit this mid-tempo track sits right in that pocket.

A jazz collection is not really official unless you include a Boney James track.  Batacuda is off of The Beat album from 2013.  Rick Braun is also featured, and he will have his own track featured later on in the mix.  The Beat leads into the Kim Waters track, Rhythm & Romance.  This is off of the album of the same name.  Up next is Back To You, a track performed by Richard Elliot.  It is off his latest album, Summer Madness.  This track is one of the highlights on an album that is stacked from top to bottom.

Peter White makes an appearance here with Do I Do.  This is the remake of the Stevie Wonder classic.  Peter White has been releasing great music since 1990, and he shows no signs of slowing down.  Next, the mix takes you back to 1989.  The album, Back On The Block from the ringleader, Quincy Jones.  We B. Doonit is an all-star affair, with Ella Fitzgerald, Al Jarreau, Siedah Garrett, Bobby McFerrin and Take 6 join together to entertain us.  This song is unique because there are no instruments to be found.  All of the instrumentation is created by the human body. They “Got the only low bass, baby, when there ain’t no bass around.”  This is quite a masterpiece.

Vincent Ingala is next with In Deep from Coast to Coast.  Vincent is leading the new generation of smooth jazz artists, being 23 years of age when the album Coast To Coast was released.

Around The Horn is up next.  This is Rick Braun at his best.  The track also features the ultra funky, Till Bronner.

Nathan East is offering Lifecycle.  This is off the Reverence album, released in 2017.  East is a veteran in the game, having played with great artists such as Michael Jackson, Phil Collins, Stevie Wonder, and Daft Punk.  That is a small sample of the artists that East has worked with.

Chieli Minucci makes his first appearance in the Smooth Jazz Mix Series with Chic.  This is from the 2005 album, Got It Goin’ On.  If you know the band Special EFX, you surely know Chieli Minucci!

Kim Waters is back for some more, this time with the supergroup, The Sax Pack.  Steve Cole and Jeff Kashiwa join Waters for Back In Style, off the Power of 3 album.  Brian Simpson’s Persuasion is up next, and the track also features Boney James.  Definitely one of the funkier tracks of the year.

This edition closes out with Reach Higher, from one of the top jazz groups of all time, The Rippingtons.  Russ Freeman and the band continue to crank out hit after hit.

This is a groove that will make you move real smooth, so…..ENJOY!
