Frankie Beverly & Maze Tour Dates 2017

When I was younger, my friends and I had a running joke going.  We would look at some of the “older” bands and remark that they were old when their hits were out!  Maze was a group like that……like 25 years ago.  I may be mistaken, but they were older when their hits were new.  Fast forward to 2017, and they are STILL doing the damn thang.

If they have been taking a drink from the fountain of youth, then I would like a swig.  At a time when many artists are slowing down the tour schedule, Maze and Frankie Beverly continue to book tour dates.

They will perform several dates this summer, and if you have the chance to see them live, go check out the show.

They will have some friends with them on some of the dates.

If you are in Northern California, more specifically Concord, The Stone Soul Concert on May 27th and 28th will probably interest you.  This is a 2-day event, featuring classic soul artists.  The show is sponsored by one of my favorite old-school stations, KBLX.  Man, that station has been around forever, and back in the day, they used to play smooth jazz.

Anyway Maze will perform on the Sunday show, with Chaka Khan, After 7, and Jalil & Extacy of Whodini.

On June 9th, the O’Jays will join Frankie Beverly and Maze in Atlanta, GA.  They will perform at the Chastain Park Amphitheatre.

You can find tickets for this show here

Maze will be a part of the Hampton Jazz Festival on June 25th.  This will take place in Hampton, VA.  You can see the details here.

On August 18th, the O’Jays will rejoin the show in Vienna VA.  The Wolf Trap will be the scene.

August 26th in Michigan the show will feature Chaka Khan.  They will be playing at the Michigan Lottery Amphitheatre at Freedom Hill.

These are definitely some good shows.

Here are a couple of my favorite tracks:

Just in case you forgot, there’s an all-star tribute album to the band, and these are the two I like the best (besides the Mint Condition version of Back In Stride).
